I have been doing this type of work for approx ten years and I can tell you are very experienced and nice to read this type of recommendation since lot of them are worthless. I had one question for , as far for leather adhesion promoter is there one brand that works better than SEM. Thanks

I did get a few jobs that I had to strip and clean three times // peeling where the acrysol was welded. I used xxx promoter but wanted to know if you knew another brand or product that works same or better

This is a wonderful step by step article. I haven't tried it, but it makes me realize what an art and work this process is. Maybe now I'll just take my car to a professional!

Hey Adrienne,
I get a bunch too! But I use the Askimet plugin for WordPress. It works pretty good to weed through all the junk, I still will find a relative comment or two it's flagged as spam but all I have to do is move it. All in all it's the plugin to have.

Talk to you soon,

Steve,
Good to hear from you and thanks :)....As far as using a quick fix on anything you are keeping would not be advisable. I would definitely recommend you contact a local upholstery repair professional like myself and have the seat professionally resurfaced. I think you will be happier in the end.
As far as the leather being different, it's in the quality of the leather itself not really the surface coating. The leather used in the Jag's is of a higher quality compared to say a Chevy. The surface, if it's what I'm thinking, is a sealed leather and is dyed with a water based leather dye. When the surface becomes worn and cracked from lack of moisture, there are two options, either replace or resurface. If the seat is too bad then I would consider an upholstery shop, but if it's not so terribly cracked a professional like myself can make the seat look like new again.
If your in need of a professional like myself contact your local car dealer and see who they would recommend, I get a lot of referrals from dealers.

Hope this helps...Mike "TIG"

What a great article!!! I have a fondness for british cars... I just love the interiors. In the article, you treated a Ford F150. Would you use the same "quick fix" on Connolly of Autolux leather in a Jaguar. From what I understand, European leather is different from the leathers used in American and Japanese cars. Jaguar, Rolls and Bentley supposedly don't use "paint" or spray dies for their leathers. Would it be safe to use this treatment or do you need a different process???

[...] will disappear after it drys. But if the areas still show then you will probably need to have the leather dyed. Leather repair is a craft and there are lot of variables to dyeing leather and making it look new [...]
